Food as Medicine Guides

Live Well 365 is rooted in lifestyle and functional medicine principles — while all of the lifestyle factors are important for overall health, you can’t out work a poor diet.

We use food as medicine as a key principle that we continue to emphasize with our clients. These food plans are designed by the Institute for Functional Medicine and are tools to help you along your health journey.

Core Food Plan

The Core Food Plan consists of a foundational eating plan (sort of like a daily meal plan, but with more flexibility) that focuses on whole, clean foods with an emphasis on quality protein, fat, fiber, and phytonutrients. In addition, when you download all aspects of the Core Food Plan you’ll receive a document full of delicious recipes, meal and snack ideas, a shopping guide, and a comprehensive guide to refer to for education.

Elimination Diet

The Elimination diet consists of a short-term eating plan in which you avoid foods that could trigger adverse reactions, such as headaches or digestive issues. Healing the gut and being able to eat a variety of whole foods are the ultimate goals of the Elimination Diet. A food plan that includes a wide selection of nutritious foods helps you get all essential nutrients.

Cardiometabolic Food Plan

The Cardiometabolic Food Plan was developed for those with, or at risk for chronic metabolic conditions (cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, etc.). Diet and lifestyle interventions have been found to be very effective in treating these types of chronic conditions.

This food plan features a modified Mediterranean approach that is low glycemic and balances blood sugars, high fiber, emphasizes quality fats and phytonutrients.
